This Samuel Adams White Lantern and Guinness Draught combination worked out great. Like a Blue Moon, I think the slight cloudyness of the White Lantern makes a great effect. I hadn't tried the bottled Guinness before as I had heard that it didn't work as good as the Guinness cans. Obviously I was wrong... Guinness with Sam Adams Boston Lager is called a 'Black and Sam'. Not sure if this Sam Adams variation needs a separate name. I really thought this one would work seeing as this beer combo has an official name. It started off well but, as you can see, the Guinness dropped into the Molson Canadian rather quickly. It was a nice cascading effect though. Click on the picture below to get a better view. This told me that the density of the Molson is relatively light like the Guinness. When I poured the Molson on top of some Sam Adams I got a nice clear-to-cloudy transition. See side picture. |
